The meeting venue for board meetings is normally a Board member's home, or the Nassau Yacht Club.  The meeting time is normally from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, with attendees encouraged to arrive by 6:00pm for fellowship.   

Club members (including RAD and Rotaract) are always encouraged to attend Board meetings periodically.  This is an opportunity to see the Board in action, learn what happens behind the scenes, and participate/give feedback.  

• When hosted at a Board member's home, there will be limited space for 3 additional club members to attend.  These 3 spots go to the first members registered.  Refreshments are provided, therefore kindly inform the Club Secretary of any diet restrictions once you have registered. The Club Secretary will provide directions after successful registration.  ​
• When hosted at the Nassau Yacht Club, there is unlimited space for additional club members to attend.  Light beverages are provided. NYC dinner menu is available to attendees at individual cost. 

Registration for the Board meeting is required by April 13th, 2026.  This is a strict deadline to allow the Board sufficient time to make preparations for attendees.

As we prepare for the Rotary Year 2026–2027, RCEN’s Project Read initiative will be hosting an important meeting focused on reorganizing, reigniting, and strengthening the program for the future.

This meeting marks the first major re-engagement effort for Project Read in quite some time, and we are seeking dedicated Rotarians who are willing to support the initiative and serve on a new Board as we work to take Project Read to the next level.

Many of you are aware that Project Read has continued under the committed leadership of Rotarian Gary Sweeting, who has done a tremendous job carrying the initiative forward, often with very limited support. We are sincerely grateful for his dedication and service. However, Project Read now needs additional committed volunteers to help carry the load and expand its impact within our community.

This meeting will provide members with an opportunity to learn more about:

• The current operations of Project Read
• Its impact and existing clients
• Its structure and finances
• Opportunities for growth and leadership involvement

We also encourage members to attend with an open mind, receive the information shared, and return to a follow-up meeting in a few weeks with innovative ideas and recommendations for the way forward.

We look forward to your support, participation and leadership as we work together to strengthen this important initiative and further Rotary's commitment to literacy and education within our community.

We’ll celebrate the incredible achievements of our outgoing board and hear their final reports and reflections. Then, we’ll look ahead with excitement as President Rafique passes the torch to President-Elect David, who will share his vision for the year ahead.

Since 1975, the Rotary Club of East Nassau has upheld its commitment to community service through the enduring 'Fox Hill Run' feeding program. Currently, we extend vital assistance each month to seven families, supplying a variety of necessities including dry and canned goods, fresh produce, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.

It is held on the last Saturday monthly from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  (subject to change re. weather or special occasions)

Please join us on the 'Run' and register soonest to fill one of the 15 spaces available each month. 

• Meet up spot: Project Read parking lot (Village Road - opposite National Trust) @ 7:00 a.m. sharp.
• The Journey:  1) Bag packing @ RCEN Storage Unit (Store-It-All, Soldier Road)  2) Deliveries in the Fox Hill Community  3) Back to our cars @ Blairwood. 
• The Afterparty: Fellowship & breakfast at Starbucks Harbor Bay @ 9:30 a.m.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Volunteers will have access to a private Rotary-designated area with parking, showers and restrooms.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, wheelbarrows, shovels, and other cleanup tools.
Gloves will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves.
Environmentally friendly compostable trash bags will be used during the cleanup.
A small water station will be available, and participants are
encouraged to bring reusable bottles or tumblers to help reduce waste.

PICNIC INFORMATION
The Fellowship Committee will be partnering with the Environment
Committee for a picnic immediately following the cleanup at the same location.
Participants are encouraged to bring snacks, food, and beverages.  Drinks will be provided.
Tables, chairs and shaded areas will be available for participants to relax after the cleanup.

The Rotary Club of East Nassau has been invited by the President and Board of Directors of the Bahamas Sickle Cell Association to join them for the Official Opening Ceremony of Sickle Cell Awareness Month 2026.

This organization and its important work are particularly dear to East Nassau, and our Club has had the pleasure of supporting the Association and its cause over many years.

Members are invited to join President David and the Board at this special occasion on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the future home of the Bahamas Sickle Cell Association, Holistic Sickle Cell Centre, Carmichael Road West.

The theme for this year’s observance is:

“From Awareness to Action: Building Hope for the Future.”
