FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION:

The 50th Anniversary of the Bahamas first Olympic Gold Medal is all set for Thursday October 23rd, 2014, noon to 3pm, 50 years to the date.

The Event is a Gala Celebration of Sir Durward Knowles and the late Cecil Cooke winning our first ever Olympic Gold medal.

Tickets are now available and we are requesting you to get your Special VIP Reserved Table for your Company. You don't want to miss out on this historic occasion. Tickets of $80.

We are blessed to have Sir Durward Knowles at 96 (97 in November) to be with us, and also the family of the late Cecil Cooke to share in this milestone tribute.

Please contact the office of The Bahamas Olympic Committee to reserve your tickets now. We have more than two dozen Sporting Dignitaries from around the world coming to help us celebrate this milestone in our history. They understand the significance of this accomplishment. We are privilege and we want you to be there with us.

A Special Lifetime Commemorative Book will be given to every guest at the event. Be sure and get your keepsake for your children and grandchildren of this historic event, that has helped changed the lives of every Bahamian.

Because of this accomplishment and the previous Bronze Medal in 1956 and the World Championships in 1947 that was won by Sir Durward and Sloane Farrington, the Bahamas established a Ministry of Tourism one month after the Gold medal victory. This was no coincidence. We owe Sir Durward and this is our time to show him our gratitude.
